Viccy Coltman is a Professor of eighteenth-century history of art at the University of Edinburgh, where she specialises in visual and material culture. She is the author of two books, editor of a third and co-editor of a fourth. She has also published extensively in leading journals in her field of expertise. Viccy is in the final stages of completing a cultural history of Scotland from 1745 to 1832. In this evening’s lecture she revisits material published in her first monograph, Fabricating the Antique: neoclassicism in Britain, 1760-1800, University of Chicago press (2006)
