A film by Carolyn Scott and Andy Sim 2019 – 20 minutes
Free entry: Book tickets here
In 2019, a quarter of a century after he lived there, the author James Robertson returned to Brownsbank, former home of Hugh MacDiarmid. In this short film, he reflects on MacDiarmid’s legacy, and the continuing national importance of a seemingly insignificant place just a few miles from Biggar.
Followed by a discussion with Carolyn Scott, writer James Robertson, Professor of Scottish Literature Alan Riach, and painter Sandy Moffat.
